I've been extremely delinquent

and I really do apologize for that. It's not that I haven't wanted to write posts! I've taken tons of pictures of things with good intentions to write about them but.. the holiday ones seem especially out of season now, which is unfortunate I did some great stuff this year!

Anyway, let's not dwell on the past... I am on a bread kick. I've made 3 loaves of bread since Thursday night - strange behaviour for someone who is gluten sensitive. I got a bread maker from my mom and Robin for Christmas and I've been trying out some recipes this week.

I made my first loaf in my stand mixer, Brendan wanted cheesy pull apart bread and I don't think you can do that in a machine. I found this recipe on another blog and it sounded awesome. I made mine with orange cheddar and a mix of parsley and thyme and it came out fantastic! You make little pockets of cheese and herbs and then smush them all together in a pan - amazing!

I was all jazzed to use my new bread maker but the bread Brendan wanted didn't even use it. Obviously this was completely unacceptable - I was using that bread maker!

So that same night, I poked around the internet a bit and found a Cinnamon Raisin bread recipe that I had all the ingredients for... Good ol Betty Crocker to the rescue!

It turned out awesome, nice and soft in the middle, the crust was crunchy and flakey... sort of reminded me of pastry or something, SO good!

Today is Sunday and we're almost out of bread.

Brendan wanted Honey Oat (which we also had everything for). Seems like this is the recipe everyone uses though next time I will use a combination of rolled and steel cut oats, I only had quick oats and they sort of disintegrated into the bread.

So there you have it - breads!
